Attention all DC-3 fans !

I'd say the second. I like those weathered rims around the instruments.
But they both look very nice I must say

Javis:

UPPER- but, I would ask for options- PLEASE!

Allow those who want the abused freighter to have theirs; however, please consider, some of us will very much want to fly an old girl, that has lovingly been taken care of for 70 years. The wear will no doubt show, but the care should mitigate some of the ravages of time. IMHO this whole dirty, worn out thing is being overdone for some godforsaken reason that seems to require every aeroplane to be flown by untidy juveniles who refuse to subscribe to any standard of care for equipment they operate.

Age yes, abuse no. Dank u voor uw aandacht!

I had to load them into two separate windows, then switch quickly between them before I could find the difference, lol. So is the "eye brow" things on top of the gauges the only difference? I like that one slightly better (second one), just because it looks a bit more cluttered with "stuff", which I like the look of.

Hi Jan,

I would definitely prefer panel #1 as it looks much clearer. Panel #2 is a bit overloaded with these gauge bezels. I'm not a DC-3 expert but #1 looks more like a DC-3 to me while #2 looks like a C-47 :)

However, great work! :applause:

Greetings
Tim

Both are great but I would personally prefer #1.
Why?...Because the dead fly in #2 indicates a sloppy crew chief.:playful:

I think the bigger difference between the two would be gauge lighting technique. Panel 1 would use floodlights and UV lights to make radium markings on the gauges glow. Panel 2 uses eyebrows that would contain incandescent light bulbs to illuminate the gauges. Basically, you have two different eras. Panel 1 is definitely 1930's-40's, while panel 2 would be more appropriate for post-war uses.

Darnit! Decisions, decisions....
Most of the supposedly unmolested C-47 interior shots, that I've found, show the eyebrows with direct gauge lighting.
Seeing as I'm flying mostly C-47/R4D military variations #2 gets my vote.
Won't really matter to me though, Jan. Both are gorgeous. :applause: ...Don
