Mk_MDL problem

Hi All
I have started having a problem with converting my Gmax models using Ivan Hsu's and Mortens Mk_MDL program.
After exporting the models, MK_MDL will convert them to FS 2002 MD8 but hangs when converting the MD8 to CFS2 MD2 models.
I initially had the problem converting some FNS Destroyers, but then it went away.
Unfortunetely, it is back.
I have tried to reistall the MK_MDL, but no change.
I have used it with the 'hide DOS Box' clicked and not clicked, again with no change. The only thing I have noticed is with the Hide Dos Box not clicked, the DOS Box converts to MD8, then starts to convert to MD2, then the DOS window closes and this is where it seems to hang.
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers

Stuart, that happened to me frequently after export my models from gmax to fs2k4. Some times source get corrupted and needs a redo. There is a lot of things could be wrong, Uv coordinates, scales, animation names etc.

Going from FS02 to CFS2 can take a while if the model is big but since you have unchecked the 'hide DOS Box' and see the DOS window close before it finished the convert to CFS2 something is wrong. Since a reinsall didn't fix thing I'm going to think somthing about the model is causing it to error.

Models are OK

Thanks Allen and Max
The models are OK.
This afternoon, I successfully converted two New York BB's, then it hung on the 3rd one at the MD2 conversion.
I tried again later and the 3rd one converted successfully.
It might be in the GMax export?

Stuart,
Two things, one is just might be a more complicated/higher poly model. I bet if you left it it would eventually compile, it may take a long time (where you may think it's fallen over) but it wil eventually do it.

Secondly, MDLC likes memory, so if you have been using memory hungry progs, such as tex authoring and building, then try MDLC, the memory may need flushing out. I know it's a pain, but try re-booting to see if fresh memory helps. Memory levels may have been different from when it failed to when it compiled.

You could always try manual mdlc, through a command prompt, this uses less memory as it's not using a GUI shell...as they say every little helps!

It's not a case of throwing more RAM at the pc, it's how the memory allocation is being used and handled at any given time.
