Went to a annual "Fly-In" at Roy E. Ray airpark today.

My wife and I spent the day at Roy E. Ray Airpark, located near Bayou La Batre, AL. A Navy buddy of mine lives there, and has a Stearman. My wife enjoyed about an hour's ride, even experiencing what it is like to fly in formation with some other Stearmans, while flying over nearby Fairhope, AL airport (who was also hosting an event). A variety of aircraft were there. Most enjoyable day! There was an unusual twin engine aircraft. My buddy said it was a Dornier? NC

Great post Navy Chief! How long have they been putting on the flyin?
It's been a long time since I was in Bayou La Batre. I used to go there for the Blessing of the Fleet on a friends shrimp boat, the food was fantastic.

I think tomorrow's Fly In is the fifth year, but not sure. Will ask my buddy Lantz when I see him in the morning. Besides burgers, hot dogs and homemade ice cream.....there'll be a LOT of flyin' goin' on! :encouragement: NC
