Follow Me 2

I came across this so apologies if it is well known but I had never seen it before. It was a payware utility and development was abandoned by the designer seemingly but it works just fine. It is a Follow Me van which sure beats the yellow dotted lines FSX offers up in taxiing. It is fully configurable, just as well as the default distances ahead of an aircraft are a bit meagre especially with heavies.

Just under 3Mb d/l. I checked for viruses with a -ve result.

Am wondering if there are any options to replace the black and yellow van with another vehicle, say a tow tractor? It would be cool to change it a military style tow tractor. NC

Perhaps because it needs an entry in the exe.xml - not sure if P3D has that file as I don't presently have it installed.
Here is the entry in my one.

<launch.addon>
<name>FollowMe 2</name>
<disabled>False</disabled>
<manualload>False</manualload>

Disposition\FollowMe.exe

Oh that is odd, the copy and paste doesn't seem to carry across. I don't know how to get around this, the format of the code even taken from notepad seems to get taken out by IE in this forum.

</launch.addon>

See the manual, page 11.
There's also FSX\Disposition\Distances.xml.

The model used is stored in "FSX\SimObjects\GroundVehicles\DvoFollowMe". Looks like it can be replaced.

Actually there is an exe.xml file in the Disposition folder, but when I cut and paste the command lines in and then run the sim it kicks out error messages that are total giberish to me.

Thanks for the informatin, Bjoern. That would make it quite interesting for me, if I am able to replace the default with a custom one of my choosing! NC

As soon as I finish the Air Force one, I'll upload the textures. (Later on today - Mother's Day duties call first.)

I used to own a 1945 Willys MB, but it was in US Army colors. ALWAYS wanted one in USN colors.... Anyway, sold my jeep way back in 99 to pay for divorce lawyer fees:banghead:

I feel your pain, Chief....

The was a chief up at Whidbey, round about '95, who was running around in his haze gray Willys MB, complete with a PTO-driven capstan winch, Garand rack under the windshield and a matching Bantam trailer.

...It was my definition of "Lust"

Visitors get led around at Edwards AFB also.

That Chief was me. I was with VQ-1. Retired from there, put my jeep and Bantam trailer inside a Penske rental truck, and drove to Valdosta, GA. Ended up moving to Ellijay, GA, where I ended up selling everything. NC

I don't know why I remembered it being haze gray, then. In any case, It was verrrryyy nice. You have my condolences.

I did two tours up there: First in Avi with VMAQ-4, and then again later as a career planner with the I&I staff at the Marine reserve Combat Engr unit up on the hill, by the MWR Auto hobby shop.
