Ahh someone else is doing the same thing. Let me know what you use for weapons. I have a lot of data and files made by Brundu and Daiwilletti.

I also have the Repaints from Dombral which look better.

You are on the same wavelength Blood_Hawk23! I was going to have a look to see if any of the repaints cover this vessel. :encouragement:

@ Led Zep, this is a Guipard class, what the Brits call a destroyer, IIRC 138mm main guns, a couple of sets of torpedo tubes. The history of this class is interesting and a number of opportunities present themselves. They operated in the Mediterranean theatre and presumably the Atlantic. One ship was taken for use by the Italians, until 1944 so an Italian flagged version for MAW is an opportunity.
 
Repaints by Dombral

Just took a look at these textures. There is one for a Guepard Class ship taken over by the Italian Navy, which is great. However, the base texture is the same as the original, and when viewed in CFS3 as a dds skin, the outline for doors, windows etc is fuzzy.

Using Irfanview "sharpen" function seems to help a lot for the base bmp image, have not tried the conversion to .dds yet, it may offer an improvement.
 
Had a go at retexturing, first using the "sharpen" function in Irfanview, on the bmp texture provided. Then saved the new texture as dds using Ozone

Very nice beginning...

Try lowering the portholes in the upper row... and make them smaller... the hull has a compound curve vertically... so it deforms circles into ovals...
Also, you can add some texturing to the hull... like hull plates...etc. and it should make a pretty nice addition...

Check some of my texturing on hulls in my thread on FS 2004... I got some examples to illustrate what I mean...

warmest people! I then met some Kiwis in Hawaii and Mexico... as well as the Sinai Desert (they were in charge of traffic safety for the MFO)and the memory remains so..

Comment on Nationality

I should have mentioned on the upload notes:

- the xdp nationality is set to British (Stock nationality), so for ETO or MAW you can chenge the nationality as you so desire.

(NB I forget that I always tweak the country.xml so the Britain is the default spawning nation for the Allies. For others, they may want to set the nationality to USA if putting in a stock install, if they wish to see the ship in random spawns for campaign play).
