Vn_navy quick question....

...I have been attempting to repaint the Vn ships that are used in the KTO by the Fox Four Group. Does anyone know how to dissemble that texture so that the ships can be re-colored to the Korean War period?
So far I have been getting greyer(if that is possible) trying to figure out what some of the representations in the texture folder correllate to. I have been trying and some take then disappear and others never appaear at all. I have been attempting to follow the hints, directions, on some sites with no results. FUSTRATING!!!!
I specifically would wish the Fletchers, Gearings, Baltimore classes and light cruiser classes to be re-colored to the haze gray and deck gray of the period.
Call me anal but I think it adds to the the asthetics of the game if the colors are right.

Some parts of the VN ships may not be textured at all but be colored by material setting.

With the Baltimore I think you repaint the" main hull02".First you have to change it 24 bit, paint it and change it back to whatever bit it was originally. You may need Martin Wright's DXTbit program,it's free.

Allen is right some of the VN ships are textured in G-Max

Fibber,

You are not anal, just "historically correct." In the thread I started ("Couple of Questions"), I was dissatisfied how the Fox Four Sea Fury drop tanks and bomb pylons were painted, lol! Turns out they weren't skinned to begin with.

Kind regards,

TW

Well, they are. Just its missing. TR should be getting back to me soon. I'm working my normal 4/12s this week. I should be able to get it finished Wednesday or so.

Fibber,
There is a tool to change the material color. I have it somewhere. With a little help we can ID the parts for you.

BH....

..no hurry, but if you find it I would appreciate it. I assume that there is one because Max was apparently able to break it up for coloring on some versions.

MDL color

Fibber,

To change the color of model, I am using "MDL Mat" tool.

Here is the link http://www.mwgfx.co.uk

Go to "Bete Programs" page. Under "FS and CFS Programs" section, you can find "MDL Mat" to download.

Hope it will help you.
