A Lockheed "Rounder"

May I add to the request pool :adoration: , the early standard PV-1 which the RNZAF use in the Pacific without the chin guns and the RB-34As - respectively 116 and 23 used , now they really look aggressive and streamlined , that would complete the entire series , tho missing out the European Boulton Paul turret version.

Thank Ian for your interest. I am not back into the PV-1 just yet; trying to wrap up these other projects first and awaiting some final textures for the interior to finish her off.

Once I am back into her, I will certainly consider your request.

The PV-1 is totally different in wings, engines, tails, cockpit, and fuselage mapping so I keep the project separate from the Harpoons and Lodestars.

Frankly, I had not considered doing the PV-1 initially but since I had so much time on my hands awaiting textures, and thought the project would go quickly, I did it. Boy was I wrong. LOL Everything was different so I had to totally remap everything outside and change up the VC.

Milton , thank you very much, it amazing the changes they did to the aircraft for all sorts off reasons, we don't have a Ventura PV-1 here in Christchurch and mention before we have a Hudson .. the internals on those are also so different.

I wonder if you could borrow photo textures to build on from other aircraft, but I guess that is what you are hooking into.

It is a brilliant project .. I must dig up a drawing I did and post it here , one I did when I was 14/15 I guess in ball point pen ... to many War comics me thinks.

there is interest in the PV-1 !! :encouragement: Thank you sir for the all the Lockheeds, they have quickly become a favorite..!!

CRIKEY .. Now that was not so hard to find, a little entertainment for the "A Lockheed "Rounder" Team" dates back to my early high school days :untroubled:

I have pretty much finished up the PV-1 with a few things yet to do in the VC but I am trying to minimize further differences to protect my sanity. :) I am going with a one pilot cockpit though.

Now its a Thank You Sir, :adoration: from me .. I've progress a lot from ball point pen and now really study perspective ... I'm very sure that Me-109 was not going to survived, .... funny how you draw as a kid and look back ... I'm sure the team will love it .. :untroubled:

nice drawing Ian..!! and thanks Milton for not pushing the PV-1 out the back door of the hanger entirely.., yet..!! :encouragement:

Hi Rachael,

I just had a very close look at the Lodestar wearing your paintkit skin. Even resized to 1024 x 1024 it is more than outstanding! A wonderful dream for every (re)painter. :applause::applause:

Thank you very very much again!

Cheers,
Maarten :wavey:

Hi Rachael,

I can only follow up with the compliments of Maarten above!
The amount of work you put into this is astonishing, and more than justifies the 320 MB download.
This is extremely well done, and will certainly offer me weeks, if not months of entertainment.

Thank you very much,

Regards, Stuart

Thank you very much folks :) the compliments are lovely. I did my best, I love the aircraft and was proud Milton asked me to help. It's not the best, But I tried :)

The paint kit is awesome; your talents and attitude are greatly appreciated. We are fortunate that you choose to share your work on these aircraft in FS9. Thank you so much Rachael. :applause:

Hi there,

A little snag came up, at least on my PC, with the latest P&W and Wright models of the L-18 (I didn't check the C-57 and C-60A yet, I must confess). The texture "parts.bmp" doesn't appear anymore on both versions (see screenie L-18 Wright-powered). Did I miss something? Always possible, of course. ;) Could anybody give me advise? Many thanks in advance.

Just finished the preliminary alpha channels for Firekitten's awesome templates. I'm very pleased with the result. No need to polish the plane any further. Time for the company colours to be applied. First KLM West Indies (again! :) ), NZNAC and ML-KNIL (Royal Dutch East Indies Army Air Force) are also on my to-do list.

Cheers,
Maarten

The engine and prop blades are my fault. I forgot to tell Firekitten about those changes for the Lodestars.

The parts.bmp changed to parts_t.bmp to allow different textures on front and rear sides of the blades. The prop blades moved on the same texture to bottom right as shown in the attached.

Secondly, the _t is to allow for chrome prop blades on the civilian liveries where required. Just use appropriate alpha on the blades.

EDIT: You can use the attached parts_t.bmp but you will need to paint the prop blades and the yoke and stem again.

Thank you very much, Sir Milton. You're faster than lightning! Fabulous!

Cheers,
Maarten

Edit: Your hint did the trick! Luvlyjobbly! :)
