Found this on Youtube, probably FSX section is not the right place to post it, but I think people here will like it anyway:

Thanks for posting Ian:encouragement:

The second part of the film with the F15's coming head-on gave me goosebumps!

I have always wanted to go up there... nice footage...

One of the few places in the world you can get a top-down view of a fast jet flying :)

Not as good as the real thing but fun nonetheless..

Cheers Tom:encouragement:

I wondered while taking those shots if spotters go anywhere else down the route. Where the last 2 were taken would be pretty cool though from there (the turn you see in the vid), you're looking up at the jets not down at them. I rarely fly the correct route as it's all over too quickly. For the most part.. I approach that valley from the sea (the other end) and fly all the way up to the entrance.. a swift Derry Turn left at the top then down the estuary on the other side of those mountains.. ready to do it all again:biggrin-new:

That's a better Loop a/c: properly nimble as well as fast. F-15s are like trucks by comparison, but you'll also find footage of a Herc doing the Loop on YT - yikes!

Oh yeah.. you feel that in the sim too:)

Been down the road at the bottom of the valley many times on holiday but never ventured up to those spotting points. I live under the Lichfield corridor and get to see them going too and from the loop.. all be it at 14K. Nowhere near as spectacular:(

Was overtaken once on way home on the A 470 between Dollgellau & Dinas Mawddwy by a very low level Herc back in the late '90's, I was above him,
at about this point 52.432849, -3.760931 according to Google. Unfortunately no place to stop on that stretch of road, one can at the top though.

Not much time to post and follow the posts today, but you've here a litte zip file with two missions with a training for the loop at high speed. You begin in Raf Valley and then must go to Barmouth where there is an entry door, that lead you to the beginning of a loop. The path is a real life loop, but the doors are quite complicated. Each time you pass a door, the next one is activated till the end, where a second round become available. The doors are visual indications, the best is aiming the bottom of the arrow.

One of the two missions is named "machloop air" and begin with the default ULM. If you check the box that allows modifications ("enable changes in selected mission") while loading the scenario, you can choose another plane, and change the date.

The other is designed for the M2M M2K, because the purpose was to push this beautiful add-on to its limits, and it didn't load properly with the first method. It can turn in less than 4' 30", but it's a challenge, and the fuel consumption is very high (the return to the base is not certain !)

Unzip the archive, copy the two files in the "mission" files of FSX, and the two missions appears in the mission manager.

One trick : you must pass a door in the correct position to reach the next one.

Forgive my poor english, and enjoy !

Yes, people have locations all through the loop they photograph from. It's a trip I've never made but I would love to.

Thankfully I live within 4 hours drive of Death Valley. One of my shots from a recent trip:

Early morning, Nate? Cracking shot!
Thanks Tom! Believe it or not this was about 1pm, but it was in November (last year) so the light was a little more favorable. I've been there in April as well and the light was pretty harsh. I'm heading back in 6 weeks :D

This one is in March of this year, I think around 10am:
