This week the AEE B-17G "Aluminum Overcast" visited Redding, California. This ole timer has always wanted to take a ride on a B-17 so I signed up. Before my flight I took some video of the startup and taxi of the flight before mine. I will share some pictures later but for now you will have to be satisfied with this video. The quality is poor for upload convenience. The HD version is awesome. Click HERE!! I bought the hat and flight jacket only sold to those who make the flight. :adoration:

Thanks for the comments guys!! Yes this was the experience of a lifetime. The sound was absolutely fantastic. The four Cyclone 1200 HP engines were really fun to hear. She was more maneuverable than I thought such a large aircraft would be. You could go everywhere in the aircraft but two places once we were airborne. You couldn't interfere with the pilots of course but the ball turret and tail gunner positions were off limits. You could look out of the top turret and most fun was squeezing into the navigator - bombardier area. There was even a Norton Bomb sight in position. Very cool stuff. Aluminum Overcast is based at Oshkosh. I mentioned to the crew that myself, a really close friend and Roger Wilco66 will be in Oshkosh for a week in 2016. We will link up again then. I will be posting more pictures in the next week or so. Thanks again for the comments.

Will be taking to the air in the spring on the B-25 at the Yankee Air Museum...... watch them come over my house all summer. You can here them coming a ways off and no mistaking the engine sound.
Hi Don , Hi Mom .. you lucky son of a gun , :encouragement: I really wish I was there to join you for the ride :bee:
