GAS Davis D-1

A beautiful ride

Only 66 airframes built. Another example how the Great Depression crushed the civil aviation industry

The Genuine Article!

I'm excited about this release, and for that reason was especially surprised to see one in the flesh at the Ft. Worth Alliance airshow this weekend. All the better knowing how rare this bird is. Have a look!

I was reading up on that - seems they were only in production for a year - from 1929-1930 - then there was a 'fire' and it destroyed the factory warehouse...
Sure is a beautiful little airplane..

Here's a few shorts of the project as it as progressed

VC is well along

A bit distress started

A new livery one worn and one not so much

It's been a long time since I've begged for an FS9 version, but since one of my dearest FS dreams has been a version on Steve Meyers Davis D-1-W with a clickable cockpit and refined geometry, I figure it's worth an ask...
Is there any chance this will get an FS9 version?

I figure I already know the answer, but a question never hurt anybody, did it?

It's unlikley. To get down below the FS9 vertice limit of 65K would be almost impossible. We dont even have FS9 installed or mapped to our design program. Sorry.

This just might get me out of my GAS Monocoupe 110, but it will be tough. But I really like the Davis as well, so these two classics may just have to share stick time. ;)

Project update

The modeling is virtually done. Just finishing up the liveries for the Warner version. We hope to have it out before Thanksgiving and soon to start the Ryan SC-W as a next project. Have a look.
