Spooling of the engine

Some older jets have this feature that the response of the engine is a bit slow. Where is the parameter that changes or influences that?

NOt sure now ... maybe the spool up rate in table 1501 of the air file?
 
Thanks Milton, but I can't find a section 1501.....not in the airfile I'm trying to change. It's in other airfiles I opened, but not in this one. Strange.

If you feel like it, you can always cut and paste ("Copy to Clipboard" etc.) a section 1501 from another aircraft's .air file to the .air file you're using, and then you'll have those parameters to use.

I've been mucking about with the old AlphaSim F-80. CFS 3 had a default P-80A that came with the sim and AvHistory did one of their 1% airfiles for it. I've tried it in FSX and it's slow to spool up and to get up to speed in flight much like it should of have been. That airfile is in the library here.

I believe fuel_flow_gain is a good place to start in the cfg if you don't have table 1505 in the airfile. Increasing the figure will increase spool-up times.. decreasing it will do the opposite;)

As Willy says, those old jet engines spooled up slowly. Not just the German jet engines, but others too. As far as I know, the F-86 Sabre engine, for example, needed a full 20 seconds from idle to full power. Of course you can change it to your taste, but you may make your plane less realistic.
