Classic Hangar Question!

Every penny. It can be a bit FPS intensive at full resolution but they do give the option to dial that down to 1024.

Thanks! I was beginning to think that maybe no one owned the airplane. lol
It does have a nice look about it and the screens do show some terrific detail in the VC. I may just take the leap.

It's a model I don't fly often but is always installed. Agree with Naismith that it can be a bit heavy on frames with the hi-res textures so I have the lower res installed.

Maybe a nice stocking filler come the Xmas sales Ed;)

Mathias Pommern & Alex Biagi and their team did a real astounding work with '190 and '108, I hope Classic Hangar will continue his production .....

Reading this thread, made me re-install the 108 today (weather is awful outside) and forgot how much I enjoyed it in the first place. Should have stayed in the sim. Flew from Hobby in the Pacific Northwest and flew a local flight before a couple of circuits. Time after time, I do the wrong thing and line up on the taxiway instead of the runway when on finals. Good job have my AI set low!

Going back for some more.

Cheers,

Martin

Ed,

The Classics Hangar Taifun is a great model and has some really interesting features. It is a mixture between a GA plane and an early WWII fighter.
When you like this type of aircraft, you definitely won't regret the purchase.

(But I'm biased of course....)

Cheers,
Huub

I confirm the feedback from the other members above. I also used this plane quite a lot (even though I haven't reinstalled it in P3Dv3 yet) and I loved it so much.
The cockpit has some of the most crisp graphics I've ever seen, and the plane is quite enjoyable for VFR small flights.
The start sequence from Cold&Dark is a bit strict though. You'll have to follow precisely the checklist in correct order, else it will not start. It's a bit frustrating but it's really the one-and-only negative point about this airplane.

Add me to the list that absolutely love this little aircraft. I actually finally finished a much-delayed review for it at simFlight not too long ago...

One of the favorites in my virtual hangar. I just installed it into P3D v3, and it's joy; though the loadout configurator does not work. It all works perfectly in FSX though. :adoration:

The load configurator doesn't work ?
It was working fine in P3D v2.x, so I was hoping it would work well in v3 as well :/

How do you guys install this in P3D? It does not seem to have a dedicated installer. Do you use the Estonia tool?

The installers (original 1.1 and the SP2 update) ask you for a destination path. I just specified the P3Dv3 main folder for both these installers, and the plane got installed in the right place.
In fact, I just did that 5 minutes ago, because the Taifun was not installed in my P3Dv3 yet.
However, there was a small bug in my case: the "fallback" mecanism for textures didn't work. I had to edit the "texture.cfg" file in each repaint folder to correct the first path.
Mainly, I changed this:
[fltsim]

fallback.1=\4096
...

To this:
[fltsim]

fallback.1=.\4096
...
Yes, I just added a small dot. And then it worked, my planes were not black anymore :)

Does your configuration window work Daube? I can do things like cold starts, wing folding, etc., but can't do a thing about adding passengers, changing weight, etc.

Yes, the configuration window works perfectly.
However, when it comes to the visual changes (passengers appearing), this only happens when the battery is ON.
If your battery is OFF, the plane will most likely stay empty.

Jupp, the cold and dark plane should always be empty.

My config panel will not work for adding/subtracting passengers, or changing any payload weights. This is after cold and dark, with the battery ON.
