Good place to warn folks things may be fixed or unfixed!

2.5 GB update this AM. Will find out what the ASOBO Boffins have been doing!

It reset some but not all of my graphics settings. Had to reactivate my community folder and my marketplace add-ons too. Sigh...makes the flying experience underwhelming. Back to 2020 again.

There is a secret shift-C assignment to get you inside the cockpit if starting on the ramp. Also one can revert to a 2020 keyboard, however then no way to enter the cockpit? I had some bindings Borked, not a full accounting so far.

I had to uninstall and reinstall again, so spent most of my afternoon resetting my folders and checking what is and is not working in my community folder. My control bindings, surprisingly still worked. I made a short flight in the default Cessna 152 from KRNM Ramona out to the coast and down to Mission Bay, to a landing at KMYF Montgomery in San Diego, Ca. in the late afternoon. A smooth flight with smoother control of the aircraft. Then, to check, I loaded the SWS RV-14, which could not close the canopy before. This time, all the latches and handles worked.

ATC still sucks, however this time both my voice and the towers voice could be heard. Before, I could not hear my voice. Also, the ai aircraft were way wrong at KMYF, taking off from taxiways and speeding everywhere. However, there were not as many totally incorrect aircraft in parking areas.

Tom, shift+C has always been how to get in cockpit on ramp. Use it again to get out. The default GA aircraft now get you in by opening the door. MSMP and other non default aircraft use the shift+C to enter/exit.

There is now a long list of non listed actions available at the end of each controllers pages. If you can't find a specific action in the groups for a controller, check the last group at the bottom of the groups page.

My controls still default to "Warthog HOTAS 2024 Transversal," which is pretty annoying. I have to reset them every time I start the sim or change aircraft. I've already tried setting them for all aircraft and default, but that's greyed out.

I haven't been able to get an airliner to follow the flightplan, I don't know if that's something I'm doing wrong or the sim.

I wonder how much of this is equipment related. I don't like M$ checking out our equipment and then determining when, and if, we'll get an update on anything, which started when WIN10 was rolled out. Some people on here, and other forums, have problems every time they try to run the sim, while others have little to no problems. Myself, I had more problems with MSFS2020 than I am having with 2024.

I have not tried to use a flightplan, yet, as I haven't tried any long distance flights, yet. All my flights have been GA, short hop between personally known airports mainly to check out how well my 2020 portover aircraft are working. I am finding that almost all of the ones that, for me, were nearly unflyable in 2020, are a joy to fly in 2024, and they handle much more realistically.

I'm having a blast with the 737 Max 8 passenger version, using a freeware TUI livery from FS.to. I'm currently flying it from EGNM Leeds Bradford to LEMG Malaga. There's a knack to it, here's my procedure:

Create a flight plan with the MSFS2024 web browser flight planner - I select the 737 Max passenger version first, then select my departure and arrival. I then auto-select all sections inbetween. If any section appears on the map in red, there's a problem and I remove that section before saving the flight plan. No need to worry about entering weights and fuel, they don't carry over into the sim (yet).

Launch the sim, select the 737 Max, configure the passenger variant, then the livery, then the registration, callsign and flight number.

Return to the world map screen to select live weather and set the time as required.

Open the EFB, go to the flight plan screen and select Load Plan, e.g. EGNM-LEMG is the latest one I've saved. Scroll to the bottom of that screen and click on Send to ATC (wait a few seconds for the button colour to change back to light blue), then click on Send to Avionics and wait again. Go to the aircraft screen and enter your payload and fuel details, then click on Load in Aircraft. Finally, close the EFB.

I always start my flights on the runway, and once in the cockpit I go to the built-in EFB below the left window, scroll down to bottom of the flight plan list and click on Send to Avionics again. This sends the flight plan to the FMS.

Next, I go to the FMS and click on the Legs button to check for any Discontinuity. I click the Next Page button and delete any Discontinuity I find before clicking the Exec button. The flight plan is now active in the FMS and on the displays.

I always set the AP Heading to the runway heading before takeoff so that during climb out, when I engage AP CMD, I can select AP HDG before switching to AP LNAV. Sometimes LNAV won't engage on it's own, but always does when HDG is engaged first.

Hope this helps!

Quite a coincidence Tiger, it's Leeds to Malaga that I've been trying to fly!
Many thanks for taking the time to type your procedure, it's very much appreciated, I'll give that a try :)

Not sure if it was related to update but had all settings and preferences reset. A bit tedious having to reset all this so many times!

I think it was Forrest Gump (or Gomer Pyle) who would utter 'Surprise surprise"! Anyway this morning my view control bindings decided to go haywire with no control bindings and the cockpit camera pointing only at the overhead panel Maybe I got them working, sort of? maybe.

Sorry I can't help with that issue, it hasn't happened to me - yet - but I'd really like to know WHY it happens so I can avoid it too.

That's me alright! I have one monitor, one keyboard, one mouse, one Logitech Pro Yoke System and pedals. That's all - and MSFS2024 works exactly as it should.

I also have a simple system, though a good MSI computer, a 42" widescreen monitor and stick and throttle plus pedals. If bindings did not have to be constantly be re set and always worked, then the daily oath count would be reduced. Pretty much I just work on my project planes as the default ones are often barely useable. I have had fun gunk holeing with the cub and flying a Bell Chopper around Sedona and South Island NZ.
