P-47D-26 THUNDERBOLT - CFS3
V2.82.100
AvHistory 1% Aircraft General Statement and Installation Instructions
It is the intention of the AvHistory 1% project to over time build the most accurate aircraft that the CFS3 software can support. The development of a 1% aircraft requires specific and in many cases dramatic changes to the aircraft delivered with the MS game as well as the addition of aircraft built from the ground up by third parties which were never included in the original MS game. We believe that because the AvHistory 1% aircraft are materially different they should not be mixed with "box stock" aircraft in online combat.
All the planes 1% listed for download are qualified for use in our AvHistory William Tell Meet Air Combat Ladder. For information and to get the sign up sheet for the ladder please go to the LINKS section at http://www.avhistory.org
P-47D-26 THUNDERBOLT
This aircraft was built by Gregory SARGE Pierson & Jerry SPARKS Beckwith using version 2.82.100 of the AvHistory 1% Assembly Line process. It is based on the stock MS P-47D.
The EASY'S ANGLES livery was expertly done by Dan Swart. The 9th Air Forces, 36th Fighter Group's 23rd Fighter Squadron took the nickname "Easy's Angels" from their squadron commander Major Albert E. "Easy" Miles. Easy Miles was killed in action when his chute caught on the tail of his plane during an attempt to bail out. He went in with his plane.
The 23rd saw action in every major combat by US forces in the ETO including the Air Offensive Europe, Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace, Central Europe. Although serving primarily as a fighter bomber unit the 23rd was credited with 37 enemy aircraft destroyed.
