The Auster Agricola was an agricultural aircraft designed and built for applying top dressings and fertilizers; it could also be used as a sprayer. It was made in particular for the New Zealand market after a visit and study made by Auster's chief designer concluded there was a particular need for such an aircraft.
However by the time the aircraft entered production, the market had declined and so only 8 of the aircraft were sold.
