On 17 July 1939 Vliegpark Bergen was opened and put into use by the Strategische Verkennings Vliegtuig Afdeling. Already on the first day of the war, 10 May 1940, it was bombed. A large number of Dutch planes and all hangars were heavily damaged. Nevertheless bombardment flights were still carried out from Bergen. On 15 May 1940 it was taken in use by the Germans. My version is a representation of the field as it was in 1940 before the 10th of May.I want to thank Huub, Ferry and Wim for their contributions. Cees
