Rattlesden was the home base of the famous ?A Bit O? Lace? B-17 of USAF's 447th Bomb Group, situated between Felsham and Rattlesden, Suffolk ( 9 miles SE of Bury St Edmunds.) Rattlesden was allocated to the Eighth Air Force as a bomber base on 4 june 1942.
