Wendling was the home base of a B-24 named "Jolly Duck". This plane crash-landed near the place where I live here in the Netherlands, near Zoetermeer. One of the crew members, John McCormick, is remembered here as a local hero. While waiting for an opportunity to get back to England, he fought against the Germans with the local resistance and was killed in a firefight. He gave the biggest sacrifice for our freedom. This base is in honor of his commemoration. There is a full working afcad coming with this one. Also included in the download are two AI traffic BGL files that make this base come to life with the excellent repaints of the Wings of Power Liberator done by Chuck Lawsen. The "Jolly Duck", "Miss Minnie" and "Dugan", all three Liberators from the 392nd B.G., will fly again from Wendling. Enjoy!
