This repaint depicts the Messerschmitt Bf109E-4 of Oberleutnant Herbert Ihlefeld, Gruppenkommandeur I.(J)/LG 2, Marquise, September 1940. Already a 7-victory Condor Legion ace, Ihlefeld scored over 20 kills during the Battle of Britain before going to even greater things. He commanded various Geschwader, finally at the head of JG 1 with 123 victories to his credit. Enjoy!
