A skin for Gnoopy's B-29 Superfort depicting a DB-29 drone controller of the 1st Guided Missile Group, based at Eglin AFB in Florida, detached to Ladd AFB, Alaska for cold weather testing of the Republic JB-2 Loon missile in the late 1940s. The tests went on long enough for the plane to acquire high visibility arctic red outer wing panels and tail. The unit insignia under the cockpit glazing appears to be that of the 371st Bomb Squadron, perhaps the plane's previous owner.
From photos in a series about early cold war operations in Alaska that appeared in the Journal of the American Aviation Historical Association.
Paint job by Mick, based on unidentified texuress, probably Gnoopy's originals.
