VH-SBN [cn:10001] [sn:42-24139] was built as a C47A-50-DL at Douglas Aircraft, Long Beach, California in August 1943 and was delivered to the RAAF under "Lend-lease" agreement [callsign VHCTS] as A65-19. After service with No 33 and No 35 Squadrons sold to DCA September, 1946. Transferred to TAA - September, 1946. Entered onto the AAR as VH-TAH - December, 1946. Registered to ANA Commission. Aircraft was named 'Cobb' and later 'Strezlecki'. Operated its first revenue service as a freighter with TAA - February, 1947.
Reregistered as VH-SBN - April, 1962. Transferred to New Guinea to operated 'Sun Bird' services. Chartered by East West Airlines for short period - July 1968.
