This file contains alternative textures for the Douglas P-70 A-2 Nighthawk by by Milton Shupe, Tom Falley, William Ellis, Roman Stoviak, GLH with original Pilot figures by Jan Visser and Bill Ortis (mod'd).
Faced with a shortage of night fighters / intruders, the USAAF adopted the RAF practice of converting A-20's for the role. Some 270 A-20's of different models were refitted in several variants and designated P-70 Nighthawks. Most P-70' served stateside in training roles, but some saw combat in the Pacific. "The Night Shift" is a P-70A2 belonging to the 6th Night Fighter Squadron based out of Carney Airfield, Guadalcanal, in early 1943.
The nose art is based on a Warthunder texture by Feral_Lutheran, who claims this nose art is authentic. However I have not been able to find any photographic evidence to confirm this.
The repaint is based on the excellent paintkit by William Ellis, which was converted for PSP7 by Steve "Stalin" Baldwin.
Enjoy,
