G-ADBW (c/n 6288) was one of many civilian aircraft which was impressed into military service at the outbreak of World War II. A former Jersey Airways, Isle of Man Air Services, and Airwork Ltd aircraft, it served with the No. 6 Civil Air Navigation School, later the No. 6 Air Observers Navigation School at Shoreham and Staverton. Becoming Z7265 in July 1940, it went on to serve with the No. 7 AACU (Anti-Aircraft Co-Operation Unit) at Staverton, and the No. 8 AACU at Cardiff. G-ADBW/Z7265 was struck off charge on November 17th 1941.
