FS-9 repaint of the MAAM TBF-1 Avenger, unit and date unknown. However, the apparent freshly painted new "summer '43" red surround star and over-painted markings suggest summer or fall of 1943, and possibly recently transferred to a new unit or the old unit has been redesignated as evidenced by the painted over "A 7" and a newly painted "S 8."
