P-51b Captain Don Gentile's 'Shangri la' - 336th.zip 2024-06-21

This repaint is a rendition of the P-51b 'Shangri la' flown by Captain Don Gentile. Right out of High School Don (Dominic) Gentile joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and soon joined the RAF and began flying in England. Soon he join the 133 Eagle Squadron made up of American fighter pilots who had volunteered to fight for the British. His first two victories were with the Eagle Squadron. In September of 1942 he transferred into the United States Eighth Air Force: 336th Fighter Squadron, 4th Fighter Group. During his time in Europe he had 2 victories in a Spitfire, 4.33 victories in a P-47 and 15.5 victories in a P-51B.
