-51D-20 44-72174 #52 "SHIMMY IV" was the assigned aircraft of Lt.Col. Chester L. Sluder, the CO of the 325th FG. 44-74936 is currently displayed in the US Air Force Museum, painted in the colors of this aircraft. Repaint of the Shockwave WWII Mustang by Jan Kees Blom, based on paintkit by John Terrell.
