P-51D 44-72922 was the aircraft of ace pilot Major (later Brig.General) Robin Olds of the 434th FS in which he shot down four aircraft during the later stages of WWII. After the war, it was used with ANG units until 1958, when it became a private aircraft. It was used as a racer until a crash in 1991. It was then rebuilt by Jim Shuttleworth of Indiana as a TF-51 and repainted in its original WWII colors and registered N93TF. Unfortunately, it crashed again in 2003, killing Jim Shuttleworth. It has since been restored and again took to the skies in 2007. This folder contains two repaints by Jan Kees Blom, based on the paintkit by John Terrell. One is depicting 44-72922 as she may have looked during the war, the other the restoration by Jim Shuttleworth.
