P-51D 44-13521 was built in Inglewood, CA, and served with the 504th FS / 339th FG from Fowlmere. It was taken on charge on June 30, 1944, but did not serve for long with this unit, when Lt. Myer R. Winkelman failed to return from a mission on August 13. At present, she is undergoing restoration to airworthy status with Maurice Hammond in Hardwick, UK. It is hoped that she will take to the skies again in 2009.
