This is a repaint only for the WOP P-51D and WWII FightersP-51D. This aircraft, owned by Jack Croul, was first delivered to the USAAF in1945, and served with several ANG units including the 190th FS of Boise, Idaho. The aircraft then past through several owners before being repainted as"Miss Torque" in 1984. In 1993 the aircraft was shipped to NewZealand and in 1995, owned by Tim Wallis, was registerd ZK-PLI. In 2005 theaircraft was sold to Jack Croul and shipped to Chino, California where uponarival the aircraft began a thorough restoration program by Jeff Harris, thefirst time in fact that this aircraft had ever been restored in the half acentury it had been opperating. The aircraft completed restoration in thesummer of 2006, finished in factory condition bare metal with filled, sandedand painted wings, not to metion the stars & bars. It is a good posibilitythat in the next couple of years a wartime paint scheme will be applied. (2007-09-05 12:03:26)
