This is a repaint only for the WWII Fighters P-51D. This aircraft, 44-72942, is a WWII vet, and flew with the 12th AF. After the war the aircraft served with various ANG units before being sold surplus in 1957. The aircraft was
restored in the early 80's and painted in the markings of Lt. Col. John Meyer's 352nd FG mount, "Petie 2nd." In 1985 the aircraft was purchased by Anthony Buechler of Wisconsin, and has been with him ever since, logging more than 2000 hours of flying time in the now 22 years he has owned the aircraft. It has never been raced and never been wrecked.
