This is a repaint only for the WOP P-47 Thunderbolt, in the markings of P-47D-25 "No Guts, No Glory." This aircraft was built in 1945, too late to see service in WWII. It was delivered to FA Peruana as FAP119 in 1953. In 1969 it was one of six Thunderbolts recovered from Peru by Ed Jurist. It then became part of the CAF and flew as "Grumpy", a 12AF fighter.
It then passed through several owners before crashing during take off in 1980 and was later purchased by The Fighter Collection, Duxford in 1984 and it was rebuilt by Fighter Rebuilders of Chino, CA. It arrived at uxford in 1986 where it was painted as "No Guts, No Glory", an aircraft piloted by Lt. Col. Ben Mayo, who was the CO of the 82nd FS of the 78th FG, based at Duxford during WWII.
Just last year the aircraft was obtained by Provenance Fighters and sold to Tom Duffy of Pennsylvania. The aircraft has been registered N147PF, and Tom Duffy plans on showing the aircraft at many air shows this summer.
