This repaint of the RFND F-8E Crusader represents an F-8H Crusader from US Navy Reserve Carrier Fighter Squadron 76 based at NAS New Orleans, circa 1973. Two Navy Reserve F-8 squadrons were based there during this time, the second being VSF-86. In August 1973 both VSF-76 and 86 combined with VF-753 and were re-designated as VC-13 and relocated to NAS Miramar in September that same year to become the Pacific Fleet Dissimilar Aircraft Training Squadron.
