The Regia Aeronautica (Royal Italian Air Force) received more than 90 Bf-109 G-6 during June 1943. Liveries for two different aircrafts, a G-6/R-6 belonged to 70th Squadriglia of 23rd Gruppo of 3rd Stormo (The 'Angry Wasp', based on Cerveteri's airport, near Rome) and a G-6 belonged to 154th Squadriglia of 3rd Gruppo (The 'Red Devils' group, based on Comiso's airport, Sicily), during August 1943. There are no wing fasces, roughly over-painted in accordance with the abolition of Fascism after the Mussolini's deposition (25 July 1943).
