The Blue Eagles Helicopter Display Team first formed in 1968 by British Army Air Corps Instructors at their base in Middle Wallop, Hampshire. Within a year a Full time Display unit was established and became a regular Fixture at Airshows throughout the early 1970's Displaying as far afield as the Channel Islands and Germany. However by the mid 70's the Army could not afford to operate the Team full time and they were Disbanded. In the years that followed, The team reformed on a Voluntary basis and currently operate to this day Albeit, without dedicated Aircraft. This repaint represents one of the Original Westland Sioux AH1 aircraft the team Formed with in the 1970's.
