This is a repaint only for the Justflight/Aeroplane Heaven Spitfire package. RK889 was built early in 1944, at Castle-Bromwich, as a high altitude fighter. RK889 eventually went on to serve with RAF 313 Sqdn., a Czechoslovakian group which moved all over England during the war. Later, after WWII, RK889 served with the Royal Danish Air Force where is was involved in a crash landing in 1954. The aircraft was written off, and upon scrapping had only accumulated 399 hours of flying time. This repaint depicts the aircraft just as it rolled off the assembly line in 1944 at Castle-Bromwich.
