This is a repaint for Milton Shupe's (and team_see read me) gorgeous Beechcraft AT-11 Kansan plane for FS9 and FSX. The repaint is in DXT3 (No MIP) and works very well in my FSX rig and should also do well for FS9.
The idea behind this "What if..." is a result of the following idea...
- This is a WWII time era plane which actually served to train pilots during the war;
- "What if..." a few of these planes had been sent along with other orders of Curtiss H-75 to France at the outset of WWII ?
-These planes would have been seized by the Germans and put to use with either the Luftwaffe or, as in this case, sold off to the Axis co-belligerents countries such as Finland who fought against the Soviets, or Rumania for that matter...
So, this is the basis for this repaint. In fact, there are two in the making. The first one which is called "Finland '41" and the second, which is aptly called "Finland '42". The first model has bare skin as the Finns didn't have time to apply their wartime camouflage, yet. The second one is camouflaged to reflect the wartime duties against the enemy. I chose the turret model as I prefer my wartime planes to be able to defend themselves in case of a meet with undersirable foes.
Weathering has been increased as mechanics didn't have time to pamper their plane as in more recent times...
Enjoy,
