Jagdverband 44 was a Me262 unit formed by Adolf Galland in the closing months of WWII, the Me262 was very vulnerable during takeoff and landings due to the slow speed of the aircraft at this stage, so a Protection Flight or Platzschutzstaffel was formed of Focke-Wulf 190D9s and at least one D11. This unit was called the Wurger Staffel, Sachsenberg Schwarm (after it's lead pilot Lt. Heinz Sachsenberg) or in later times Papegeien (parrot) Staffel. Red 13 was flown by lt. Klaus Faber and was the only aircraft of the Wurger Staffel to claim an aircraft shot down (a P-47, shot down on a courier flight) Scheme consists of RLM76/23/OO undersurfaces with RLM 82/83 and mottling of RLM 02/81/82 uppersurfaces Thanks to ICDP for the template.
