Col Joe Laughlin,the Commanding Officer of the 362nd FG, flew Five by Five, a P-47-30-RA, while stationed at Straubing, Germany during May of 1945. The red, blue, and yellow checked cowl combined the colors of the three squadrons assigned to the 362nd FG.
