1000mph car

I would hate to see an aerodynaic failure that causes air to get under the car at those speeds.. without any airfoils it would become uncontrollable if it goes airborn.. more power to then though if it is sucessful.
 
Didn't another RAF fighter pilot reach 1000mph in a jet car at the Bonneville salt flats in Utah, about 4 or 5 years ago? I'm getting deja' vu.

IIRC that attempt was to break the speed of sound in a car...which they did.
 
Wonder what airborne time the Rule Book allows? :icon30:
They'd have thought of it, I'm sure, because it's always going to be an aerospace design that goes for the Big One...
