HEHEHE....You said you thought you were done for now...So now you've cut back to only doing half a paint so you don't go into withdrawal?:jump:

Addictive ain't it!

You just keep painting...hopefully this week I can afford to get both packs!

Ah a Canadian Cariboo paint, a must have. Congrats to the painter as I must now purchase the Bea.

We are currently working on the service pack for this product.

If you have encountered any issues that you have not yet reported directly to the support team using the support request form, please report them now so that we can address them in the service pack: http://www.justflight.com/support-contact

Nice. Haven't encountered any game breaking bugs, but I just reported two smaller ones. Hopefully they can be squished in service pack.

I'm using this as a bush plane, it's very fun to squeeze into short gravel strips. Can't wait to get the QT-model to do some backcountry cargohauls in Alaska. Which reminds me to do some Alaskan paints too...

Here's very interesting visual approach to Bronson Creek airstrip, along the creek:

Hey there, Bushie:

Please tell us/me a bit about the QT model !! Do I correctly presume that it's a cargo variant? Since I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Trash Hauler, I'd love to see such a creation.

When I saw the shot of you taking this bird into Bronson Creek, I almost overflowed my drool catcher! I fly into that area often, but never considered flying a 146 into such places. But it's entirely logical however, and I think you just sold me on the 146 -- especially if you're gonna do some Alaskan paints.

And btw: Are you affiliated with the Return to Misty Moorings (RTMM) group? They just very recently upgraded the scenery for Bronson Creek.

Hi Jon, yes I'm waiting for JF to release the cargo variant (Quiet Trader aka QT), it's not included in base package, but was promised as a future update. After it's released, I'll do some freighter paints for Alaska. I'm not associated with Misty Moorings, although I know and like their work. I'm gonna check out the Misty Moorings Bronson Creek.

My BAe trip to Bronson Creek was inspired by this video:

Air North out of Whitehorse would be a good and excellent canidate for a fictional paint representing the Canadian Arctic or the famous Canuk North out of Yellowknife.

.
Thanks for the good info, Bushie; I learned a lot from all that! I'd had no idea that a) Bronson was such a major enterprise; b) that they routinely put large, heavy 4-engined cabs into the place; and c) that the 146 would be such a natural for such places.

Just to be clear about the Bronson Creek scenery: we die-hard bush pounders at RTMM use Orbx's Pacific Fjords and FSAddons Tongass Fjords X as the basis for our operations (they butt-up against each other to form one contiguous area). So the super-talented lads at RTMM then adds extra scenery and eye candy to those two base sceneries. Bronson, being one of them, lies inside Tongass Fjords, so you'd first have to have that scenery before adding RTMM's extra enhancements.

Probably my all-time favourite RTMM-based activity is to fly a run they call Dispatch #012, "Stikine River Mail Drop": Y'fly out of Wrangell (PAWG) and head north to enter the river valley, then north past the beautiful glaciers (compliments of the Tongass scenery). The run entails stopping at several bush strips along the valley as it arches north, then east, south and back west (forming a loose square) to join onto the river valley again for the return to PAWG. Takes around 2.5 hrs.

The scenery is just downright ruggedly beautiful and the bush strips are fun to get into, but the last two are the highlight of the run, for me: Bob Quinn Lake and Bronson Creek. I like the first for its rugged charm, and Bronson mainly because of the tricky approach. The runway's huge, compared with the others (now I know why!), but it's a hoot getting the approach right. Especially if you should pick scabby weather for the flight!

I read-up on the QT and I've put it at the top of my "BUY!" list, for when it's released. Meanwhile I must now get me the base model! See whatcha gone and done!?!

Thanks again, Bushie!

Yep, Tongass X is what shows in my pics. Never got around to get the PFJ package, because I think it is (too) similar to Tongass X and I still have some areas left to be explored in Tongass area. I think my favorite strip is the Cirque airstrip beside the mountain and glacier. Nice short hop from Scud River.

IMHO
The paint kit is very well done. I often create a master blank with full length fuse, then cut and paste to callibration marks. It can be tedious, but when you use the reg marks you always line up graphics perfectly. I do agree that a wing template would be a fine addition though.
I've done a couple of "what" if variants that I have posted here.

The virtual cocpit was well to my liking. I have other similarly priced aircraft...specifically a Dash 8 that truly had a disappointing VC. I have a 40" monitor and I still cant read the gauges in that particular aircraft.

The small glitches i.e GPWS multiple callouts, I assume will be addressed in upcoming service packs...I will look forward to that.

All in all I find this aircraft to be well worth the investment, and I look forward to the free upgrade on the upcoming release.

IMHO.....

Would like to see the paint kit for it

is it available for download or is it a part of the package ?

thanks Gman

I have no need for the paint kit now, I ended up getting a refund and went with the other brand name 146
