the highlight of my carrier was at 03:00 on the Tacoma Narrows Bridge.
three young ladies thought it might be fun to see what drivers would do if they lifted their shirts as we went by.
...definately got my attention and made my week.

Yep, even worase than in real life.

I owned an drove trucks for several years myself, an I kinda like the game (even tho it has some minor problems ), one of the good things is, when you get road rage you can runover all ya want.......... an not get in trouble :isadizzy:

Gramps, I drove a KW cabover for a while... Good equipment.. I moved to a W900, T600, and finally, as of now, a Western Star conventional. I feel alot safer in any one them than I do the family car, especially after what I see every week on the road. As a "public service announcement", please folks, be careful around big trucks. We are fathers, husbands, wives, sons, and daughters to someone who really wants us to come home in one piece. All jokes and humor aside, just give us the same respect you would give a member of your own family. You may be suprised to see how courteous we can be when we are not holding our breath in anticipation of what happens next...

It was gettin really crazy out there when I got rid of my trucks an "retired", I'd hate to be out there now.

But got to admit, I sure do miss it at times. I owned 2 kw's an a frieghtliner...................them ol'kw's were tough as nails.

Wish I'd never got rid of the areodyne. I really liked that ol truck, if nothin else could've used it as a yard ornamate,LOL

If the Good Lord ever wills me to retire, I'm going to park my truck in the yard, and when things go wrong, and I think I can't handle any more, I'm going to go sleep in the ole rig, so I can remember all those times I lay there, in that lonely bunk, hundreds of miles from home, and wished I could have been home, no matter the situation...

And I hear ya........been there, done that too!!

Once and a while (very rarely!), I think about the all you could eat Spaghetti at the Petro TS, or hauling a load of carpet padding from SoCal to The Mile High and thinking how *this time* I was going to be the large car running across I-70, or the leisurely drive east out of Portland, Oregon through the Columbia River Gorge.

Then I remember the worn out pizza at Flying J or hauling that stupid dog food load back out of Denver or trying to get over Cabbage (I-84 in eastern Oregon) before the ice got too bad, or the fools who were tying up Sesame Street wondering why every one was going 30mph across the ice storm areas of mid-Texas, Arkansas roads, Lousiana cops, Florida lot lizards, less than honest freight brokers, on and on...

After 16 years of accident free and ticket free driving I hung the keys up at the start of 2008. The medical card expired last February. Another year and half and my license loses the Class A & B and I truly become a citizen again. Wonder if they'll still want to do another full fingerprint check with the FBI?!?

Hey All,

I've been doing some alternate simming as well (Thanks to Panther who showed a screenie of this game several months ago)! Here are some pics of what I been up to. To keep it on topic I've included a big conventional diesel that can be used to unload the combine.

It's a great game although definitely immature compared to FS and it doesn't yet have enough North American equipment modeled. Wish I could model this stuff. It's also apparently a top seller in Germany.

I've considered buying this sim, just to have a sim other than flight sims. My only big truck experience has been with U-Haul rentals. The biggest being either the 24 or 26 footer, I don't remember which. That was back when automatic transmissions were not in all of their trucks. The one my parents rented, but I was to drive, had a manual 5 speed. The truck was comfortable to drive, but evidently the clutch pedal was more of an ornament than a functioning clutch. I actually pushed it to the floor, then stood on it and still could not get a smooth shift. Also helping with this move was a cousin who had many years of experience driving 18 wheelers (Mason-Dixon Line) and he couldn't get it to shift either.

And by the way, when I'm on the road I'm not the one weaving around the big trucks or trying to slow them down. I understand the momentum differential between 3500 pounds on 4 wheels and 80,000 pounds on 18 wheels.

Funny how these were laughed at by a certain sim group a couple of years ago. We (simmers) saw it coming. The entire world... Not just planes.. The entire world...... (well, Universe.. I see Mars, Europa, and all the other planets near by and perhaps farther out.... )
