the world just ain't the same without them.

this is a family web sight. :running:

Oh yeah! When I was in the Army I had a footlocker full of head comics. Anybody remember Fat Freddyscat? God Nose? We used to pass 'em around out in the bush... Helped keep the fear factor down...

I remember "Fat Freddy's Cat" and the "Furry Freak Brothers". Those were some "Strange Days" indeed...:guinness::icon34::icon29::isadizzy:

I had a plastic kit model 1975 Dodge Van I painted goldenrod yellow and I put a decal that I made wtih a decal kit on the side of the van ... with the boys!

I have no idea where it is today. Still back at the parents place I assume.

:ernae:

Keep on truckin babe ...

I never got into delusional drug posters/shirts/whatever. "A whole new world?" "Build a better America?" C'mon.

I've never heard of fat freddy's cat, I'm gonna go look it up.

We always had a stash of underground comics aboard ship. :d I remember all of the R. Crumb gang, also Vaughn Bode's Deadbone comics with Cheech Lizard and his other characters. I always liked Bode's military-theme strips with the lizards standing in for soldiers and aviators.

to be honest, i enjoyed reading the comics because they were funny. but i never bought into the hippie philosophy. by now, their effect on america, and the world is painfully obvious. if you wanna ever have some fun tickin people off, come to toronto and express a dim view of hippies and their philosophies. it's 2nd only to insulting a hockey team. :icon_lol:

Somewhere in the garage, in a box, in a dark corner I have almost every Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers comic printed. That includes the Fat Freddy's Cat ones. The funniest ones were when Fat Freddy would blow their last bit of money on catnip.

Just remember in these hard times......

Hippies are alright with me, as is just about any philosophy that doesn't harm others, but I take drug use pretty seriously. You can be a free spirit and a hippy without being high and endangering others.

LOL! A famous quote to be sure! I think half the guys in my squad in 'Nam would of had it tatooed on their chest if they could...

I think the correct title of that toon was "Fat Freddy Scat", but my memory of those days is a bit fuzzy... :isadizzy:

I got introduced to the Furry Freak Brothers and Fat Freddy's Cat while at Engineman A (basic diesel) school in Great Lakes. Yep, they're classics.

Same here, Aviation Electronics A school, NATTC Memphis back in '78. Geez that was a long time ago. For my Xmas present in '79 my sisters got me all of the Fat Freddy's Cat comics, I think three or for issues.

Even though they were either high or trying to get high you knew in the end the Brothers would get burned. The only one with any brains was the cat.
