1S2 Xtreme Games

great work ! i hope it comes out of late beta soon and into final form !

what are the glider aircraft used ?

one looks Like David Rowberrys' Horten IV, hang-glider is like his AIRBORNE C4 (and can reccommend his ATOS too, can tell i spend time in FSX on the hillsides :icon_lol:), another looks like his BrightStar

OUTSTANDING VIDEO! Down in the dirt, below tree-top level, Heidi screaming action! Just the way I use my FSX! :icon_lol: That's what I personally wanted to see of this product. That's the way I'll be using PNW. Thank you indeed for adding this clip.

I think this really showed off all the hard work you all have been doing, and frankly you definitely have a buying customer here as a result of this particular video.

You guys have definitely raised the bar on this one, Darrington Municipal frankly looks stunningly realistic. Kudos.

Gotta agree with Dain, great video that showcases the upcoming product AND one of the best ways to enjoy FSX. Heidi at the end was classic! :medals:

OK... let me put it to you this way....

I was showing my brother the video... yep he enjoyed the Heidi screaming part... but then I said... ok watch that scene in the video again...pay attention to the ground.

Airport... ok...
turn around..check....
see bend in road... uh huh...
in town... see the crop of trees to our bottom left... look over to the right to see the open area in town... rgr..... drop down into river... ok sure he says....

Now I go move over to Google Earth... find Darrington 1S2.

show him the path the plane followed.... he turns to me and says WOW

This is the kind of work that sells Flight Simulator to people who have never experienced it. Being able to recreate the scenery one would see in real life.

I can think of no better way to explain just how powerful scenery can be. Great job guys... I am tight right now but I will be making some sacrifices to get this... I just have to sit @ home and explore the PNW! :wavey:

Thanks guys! Yeah I wanted to show some down low and dirty stuff to highlight the way I personally enjoy using the sim myself. Yep, those gliders are David Rowberry's Horten IV, Airborne C4 and BrightStar - search for 'Rowberry' on AVSIM to get his stuff, it's truly excellent freeware.

Was this the Darrington area ? For real ?
When I saw that video, I thought it looked like the Concrete Mum area, which was my favorite place back in the FS9 days (with Holger Sandmann scenery for North Cascades). I didn't know this area would be covered by this new FTX addon. This is really interesting. I agree with the other guys above, this looks absolutely amazing.

Yes. Yes it was. :icon_lol:

You're thinking of the Skagit River valley which is the next one north. Concrete is just down a ways from where the Sauk and Skagit meet. That's Darrington in the video for sure. There is no mistaking Whitehorse Mountain or the Sauk river.

In FS9 I was "based" out of Orcas Island, or at least in my mind I was. :icon_lol: Used Bill Lyon's fantastic hangar included with his Travel Air package. Kinda miss the mouse now and that worthless cat, LOL.

One of my favorite FS9 routes, I'd head east up the Skagit to Concrete. Turn right and head up the Sauk to Darrington. Then west down the North Fork of the Stillaguamish through that lovely narrows area and pop out at Arlington. Dash across Whidbey Island, north up Lopez Island, and back to "home". Really looking forward to this project now.

Koorby, I hope you guys have done Orcas right, or that it's on the "to do" list for addon airports. Wow, getting Emma back too someday, it'll be like going "home". :icon_lol:

You guys are in for a treat in Skagit County. We are doing *all* the county airports, with 3W5 Concrete, KVBS Skagit Regional, 74S Anacortes and yes - the big one - KORS Orcas Island in production right now. If you like what you see at Darrington, these other airports will blow you away!
:stop:
We also have 2009 I'magery for a bunch more Skagit County airports as well.

In addition, we have another 15 airports planned in the PNW region through 2010, including my personal project - Squamish BC!
