No kodaks, because it was dark, but it was an exciting flight into Narsarsuaq, Greenland (BGBW) in a 727-200. We took off from Kuujjuaq, Quebec (CYVP). Dangerousdave26 was flying wing in a 777. It was raining when we left, but we were soon over the clouds. The interesting part was the approach into BGBW. You can line up for final approach while over land, but it's probably not the smartest technique for this place, which is likely why I ended up doing it... Visibility was good and I picked up the runway lights about 12 miles out, and very much too high and too fast. Lucky for me the 727 has spoilers, and they solve both of those problems... At five miles out I was popping the speed brakes out for a couple seconds at a time, every ten to fifteen seconds, descending steeply while keeping one eye on the radar altimeter, one on the airspeed indicator, and the other on the runway ahead... It all worked out, for by the time I came over the numbers, the VASI lights told me I was good, and my speed was right on the money. It was a beautiful thing. Dave landed a few minutes later. All in a days work.
