12 things about that article i disagree with
#3 is wrong. i don't know how old that writer is, but back when vinyl was all there was, many people bought singles because much of the actual album was weak.
#7 more of a statement on the true nature of humanity and how it is reflected in the internet
#9, a good thing, i don't care what anyone says
#10 can't be blamed on the internet. cell phones were around before the pc was common, let alone the net
#14 i read quite alot of books, the internet can't replace that.
#17 television is garbage anyhow. our family still watches things together, but now they are downloaded movies
#22 i sure hope not. it's a b.s. argument to begin with
#28 health professionals ruined their own reputations by being incompetant or liars. a good doc is still trusted.
#30 oh sure - we can see how ms teen carolina had a good grasp of geography because of gps

Most computer games require much more creativity and imagination than watching the TV does.
Anyone can be anyone on the Web. Is CG9 girl really a girl? Can one get those leg pics from anywhere? Guess what I'm saying is that HONESTY is also a casualty of the Internet. Yeah, I'm a 25 year old multi-millionare who looks like Brad Pitt. Really! Honestly!

Punctuality (#5) is something I was actually talking about recently to a friend, although I blame mobile phones more than the internet. It's far too easy to just call up or text message and fob off or explain why you're late these days.
#6 and #7 (ceefax/teletext and your first porn purchase) are something I completely agree with as well. Teletext was fantastic at the time but looks archaic now, and the first porn purchase was a right of passage!
I miss letter writing and pen pals a lot as well (#12).
#13 (memory) is a pet peeve of mine. It appears everyone is an expert on everything thanks to the internet, we know have "google intellects" who gain all of the knowledge quickly with a browse of google search and wiki without putting in any genuine research and hard work into understanding a subject.
#29 is bang on the money. As someone who can speak a number of languages I can only say that Babelfish and other online translators are awful and should never ever be used.

I have not watched television as a habbit in 30 years. I only recently got a TV tuner card for my PC. I still do not own a TV. I look to see what is on the History Channel and thats it. If there is nothing on I want to watch it goes off and I return to teaching myself something else I want to learn. Which I do often.

I'm guessing he wasn't comparing playing computer games with watching TV, but with reading books, which does require more imagination than "watching a video game". If so, then I agree.
I'm afraid I'm a bit "underwhelmed" by that whole list. Is he saying he misses all those things that have been "killed"? Since Matthew Moore is "a journalist for The Daily Telegraph and Telegraph.co.uk, with a particular interest in the creativity, community and humour of the internet", there probably isn't a point, necessarily :d. Buggy whips were "killed" by the automobile. Time marches on.

Games have the unpleasant property of depicting only a fairly small event in a huge world. As long as you can ask yourself some questions about the world itself, your imagination is doing the rest at trying to answer them.
The mental "movies" I get while playing e.g. Civilization 4 are very,very extensive...

When was the last time you spent an hour mulling the world out a window, or rereading a favourite book? The internet's draw on our attention is relentless and increasingly difficult to resist.
I agree with cheezyflier, the internet can never replace a good book that you can take where ever you want to. I always take a book with me if I know I am going to have to wait, like at a doctor's office.
