Fifty years ago on April 12, 1961, Yuri Gagarin lifted off in Vostok I and made the first successful flight of a human in outer space.

100 years of powered flight/50 years of space flight...wonder which is the bigger leap?

Yes but you can see them elsewhere than in the Tintin comics, the Soyuz launchers bring supplies to the ISS and will work in a partnership with Arianespace. From Baikonour they can launch 1.5 tons satellites, but near the equator they can launch 3 tons ! .This will complete the offer beetween the VEGA and ARIANE 5 rockets.
