7 Spending Tips From Frugal Billionaires

I´d skip 15-year-olds pickup trucks and purchase a automobile with at least reasonably modern safety active & passive safety equipment.

Without looking at the link I'd venture a guess that one of the suggestions is:

"Don't buy anything you can't pay for in cash."

:salute:

Snuffy,....it wasn't in there but you make a very good point. Basically,...keep things simple and like you stated,....if you don't have the cash,....don't buy it. That's why so many people today are in great debt to credit card companies,....they put themselves in a world of financial hurt by overspending. No control on the plastic.

Snuff and Brad,

What you both said is very true. Especially during Christmas time. They should bring lay-a-ways back.

My grandfather had two philosophies that he adhered two:

If you have to look at the price tag, you can't afford to buy it (spend within your means and don't try to live beyond your means).

If you don't have the cash to pay for it, you can't afford to buy it (no credit cards....it is foolish spending money that you haven't earned yet and even more foolish to do so with a high interest rate attached to it).

One thing we do is to eat at home and not out that much. Heck, when I was a teenager, my idea of eating out was to pick up my 22, grab some matches and a knife and hit the woods for some squirrel on a stick.

Ewwwwwww! Willy! Squirrel on a stick??

Okay, unless I'm missing something ... I just checked the link and where the title said there were seven tips, the article I saw only listed six ... I don't know if I'd trust these guys to coach me on investments if they can't count past six! :173go1:

(Oh! and squirrel on a stick is good ... tastes just like chicken only with that hickory smoked flavor to it!)
