Thanks for the reminder of the anniversary John.

I regularly pass Southampton airport where that first flight took place and I snapped this pic of the ½ scale Spitfire model at the airport gates. You might be interested if you've not seen it before.

I would say I was 20 feet above the ground; Iwas certainly level with the cntrol tower deck!

Second time round, I shock-loaded the engine, which gave me the perfect oppurtunity to test out the Spit's ditching qualities......... not very good LOL!
