Did you convert for player use and are you willing to pass it on?.....i love the Raxban birds but i want a good AD-2 i can use in missions i plan to build and post
 
Airfile.........aircraft.cfg......GZR to Fox4

I just did a quick and easy ..........down and dirty trick

Download the GZR skyradier from Simviation.com.......

Download the Fox Four KWCFS2_C4A.zip. Part of Red Star campaign......

Download Abacus Flight Dynamic Editor at http://www.flightsimdownloads.com/catalog/s372.htm

open the airfile from the GZR with flight dynamic editor and save as ......AD-2 Skyradier.air .......

in the..........

KWCFS2_AD-2_Skyraider ........aircraft folder

Open the KWCFS2_AD-2 aircraft.cfg with notepad and make the moments, weight , pitch, roll, yaw the same as the airfile you just made (open with abacus FDE and find about 1/3 down page) and notepad the numbers to be the same and save aircraft.cfg


Make the tailhook longer or just cut and paste the tailhook stuff out of the GZR aircraft.cfg and notepad cut and paste in the notepad KWCFS_AD-2 aircraft.cfg tailhook stuff and save

Backup all the orignal download you are editing...........so if you dont get it right the first time.......you can go back and experiment......

sending on converted material is a pain........with copywrite permissions, virus, etc

Also, learning curve ................give a man/women a converted skyraider.......he/she flys one aircraft for a.........

teach a man/women how to convert a skyraider.......and he/she blows stuff up for ..............hmmm untill his/her spouse tells them to get off the computer and shovel the drive...........

got to go shovel..............
 
Fox Four Skyraider.......repaint

I think this has been discussed before...........morton maybe already knows this..

but .......

I was certain this had been tried before........and with about 15 minutes of painting you will find the Fox Four skyraider ........current version must stay navy blue....

No texture mapping under wings, elevator, and canopy.......they are just part permant blue color.........

There is some polygons backwards on the underside of fuselage........so it wont take a texture

The model is a great AI .......that is why fox four group probably didnt leave it as a flyable model.............it is basic not for general upgrade........as is ...........

Yes, I just found this out recently. Well, it started out as an ai plane so I guess it isn't all that surprising.

Here is a really quick, down, and cheap 15 to 30 minute paint job ...............screen shots before I delete......(notice: I was slappin it on so fast........got my tail numbers and wing numbers backwards........ha)

ahhh......Rock Crusher I had hopes..... not really .......I was afraid there wasn't enough to work with to get a up to date jungle buster ............yet.......its kinda fun and free...and I didn't spend alot of time on it...and maybe Fox Four new release will be more flexible.

I thought I should post the pic of skyraider Artillery............I wonder if Blue Devil had to direct in fire support from an A-1H on the ground....

Ok.........so it not perfect......it kinda growing on me

I was heading for some snakeye dropping...........

And Rock Crusher is starting to grow on me..........and you don't notice the blue under wings.......yet the elevator blueness catches your eye........oh well.......its fun and free.........ok I am puttin this one to bed............

So I put on some Snakeye's (even if the skyraider.......probably didn't carry them............to slow and low...high drag wouldn't take effect.......bomb moving slow already......???)

Again..........this has been discussed in the past.........

But....

It worth repeating so you don't spend time..........trying to paint the GZR version.........

There is a 2004 redo over at avsim........it wont convert to CFS2 but ........maybe it is already CFS2??

The FSDS Model or Gmax model I of the GZR is over at Free Design or maybe at Simviation??

Here are some Screen shots of "Rock Crusher" ala GZR.......

Problems are the cowling in not painted, the wheel wells are texture from the wings or fuselage, the under side of elevators are textured as the tops.........???

It still looks fairly good???

I kinda like the GZA version of the "Rock Crusher"............

Oh well again...........can you scasm a part color????

The cowl flaps are the only real distraction..........but a big one???
 
In the mean time.......

Looks good...........maybe Rock Crusher 1 (aka Fox Four AD-2) or a better SE Camo version will be available soon.......

In the mean time............just to keep warn and clear away the snow.........and beat the cabin fever blue......

Rock Crusher GZA is keeping me entertained.........and in the swaying palms........the opressive heat of SE Asia (in my head) make me appreciate a colder climate............brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

That is a version I haven't seen before..........verrrrrrrllyyyyyyyy Intervesting????

What I meant was.......when Fox Four releases thier new and improved AD-2 Skyraider.......skin painters can work with variations.........i.e.......I could do my version of the "Rock Smacker......or whatever I wish to call it.

In the meanwhile .......

My latest exploits have been in the A-1H "Flying Dump Truck"......

and is wingman who helps deliver the load in the ......."Ole Nine Yards"...
