A-7E - VA-46 CLANSMEN (WIP)

Merida72,

I didn't find very good sources on the net either. I worked mainly from books, I have an extensive aviation book collection. I found the following useful:
- Bert Kinzey's Detail and Scale on the A-7 aircraft
- Squadon & Signal Walkaround on the A-7
- Verlinden's Lock On on the A-7D/K

Also do a google search on "A-7 walkaround photos", I found a picture series somewhere withe pretty good close-ups on the various parts of the airframe.

Thanks

PS great Viking :)

Luigi,

When Ron started on the A-7 project years ago, I sent him all of my books on the Corsair II. I have all the ones you listed, and several more. Plus, I made two trips to the Naval Aviation Museum at NAS Pensacola, to do research in their library. Those trips were a labor of love, because that museum is my favorite place to go. I could spend days and days in that place. The people who work in that library (in fact the entire museum) are so very helpful. If you ever get a chance to visit it,....DO!

Hello DAG

can you advise me where to find good designs for copy of the panels and rivets accurately?

The Web is very little quality ...

I made this from scratch:

but I am not convinced ...

Any chance we could get this as a paint kit? At least I know this jet is flyable and I've always loved the S-3.

Not likely it's no where near finished and it's vc is unusable in FSX! The problem was it couldn't be shared because of gauge and copywrite issues I think he said!

Ah, the IRIS S-3..we got that dude in the pipeline as well, being moved forward and backwards like a hammock, if i get some time i will do some work on it and then we´ll see..

Cool...2 of us working on RB A-7 repaints! I hear ya on the panel lines...finally got rid of them LOL.

Nice to see interest in painting on a bird that is over 2 years old.

Any one that wants my reduced opacity textures just drop me a line...I don't own them...RAZBAM does...I merely made it look more accurate IMO.
